¡Hola! My name is Mateo Sastre, and I'm 42 years old. I was born and raised right here in the beautiful medieval town of Santanyí. Growing up on Mallorca's gorgeous southeastern shores, the limestone cliffs were my giant backyard. I spent my childhood summers jumping into the clear turquoise waters of Cala Figuera and learning to traverse the sharp rock ledges long before anyone called it "deep-water soloing" or "psicobloc."
When I was twenty, I moved to London to study hospitality and sustainable eco-tourism. Living in the bustling UK capital for four years was a wild adventure that gave me fluent, C1 British-English, but my heart never really left Santanyí. The rugged pine-scented cliffs and secret coves were constantly calling me back. As soon as I graduated, I packed my bags and returned home, knowing that helping travelers discover our beautiful coast was the only path for me.
While I've stepped back from running daily private trips to focus fully on digital conservation and collaborations for this site, my 15 years of guiding climbers, hikers, and paddleboarders mean I've vetted every single tip on this website myself. I work closely with local councils to make sure our active tourism respects our fragile Balearic shores. Giving you a safe, down-to-earth window into the raw majesty of Es Pontàs is what I'm here for. Sharing the sun-drenched coves, the wild rosemary scent of the trails, and the powerful surge of the ocean is the ultimate purpose that I live for.
As a local guide dedicated to preserving our beautiful coastline, I operate this website to provide free, high-yield ecological and travel intelligence to global visitors. I welcome cooperation proposals from local organizations, ecological collectives, and sustainable hospitality businesses:
For local tourism offices wishing to display vetted safety briefs or coordinate on trash-free clifftop programs.
For local eco-friendly accommodations or marine rental houses wishing to sponsor pages on our digital maps.
For climbing historians or geologists wishing to publish vetted field data regarding the Balearic coastline.
